In some parts of WI, there are more snowmobiles on the winter roads than cars! Unfortunately, nnowmobile registrations have dropped close to 40 per cent this year in Wisconsin as the Cheese State has experienced a winter milder than a round of aged Gouda. The state itself has suffered from the lagging sales due to a major cut in incoming tax revenues.
This year, a paltry 30,000 units have been sold in the state, a major decrease from the 50,000 snowmobile that were purchased last year. Overall, this is equal to a loss of $1 million in total sales.
Talking about the terrible year, Bobby Donahue, owner of Donahue Super Sports in Wisconsin Rapids, said, “If you go month by month, our December, our January, our February were terrible. Almost nonexistent as far as machines go. Parts, accessories, service work, all that was terrible too.”
